Durga Puja is already here and you ladies must be busy going to the salon and pampering yourself for the festival. And definitely, you should do it, out of our busy schedule we must spare some time to look after us. Along with beautiful outfits, shoes and accessories, your face needs that extra added spark. My Durga Puja vacation has not yet started .it shall start from 16th, so I am still going on to work. I did most of my shopping from Kolkata from my last visit as I know it would be difficult to manage time with my work. And I am so busy that I could hardly manage time to visit the salon. I was discussing this matter with my sister when she suggested me to try the Face masks available at Nykaa. I have seen lots of reviews but I never thought to give the products a try until now.

Face masks sound interesting. Nykaa is one of my favourite website from where I buy quite a lot of makeup and other skin care products. They have got some amazing range of face sheet masks, some of which are from the popular Korean brands that received positive reviews. Along with the face mask sheets I also purchased the Gel Eyeliner by Maybelline which I am sure needs no introduction and review. But I wanted to try the face sheet masks as I have read a lot of reviews about them. I asked some of my friends whether they would be harsh for the skin. My sister has used earlier and she assured me to use them without any further hesitation.

It was a few weeks back when I ordered four Face Mask. I have used only two till now and I have kept two to be used just a day before Saptami, that is the seventh day of Durga Puja. The last two products I am planning to use on Monday that is Sashti and the last one on Wednesday that is Saptami. In that way, I can save some time and get salon treatment at home without burning a hole in my pocket. Moreover, my all my favourite home-remedies/kitchen- remedies are always there near at hand. Home remedies which include everyday ingredients like haldi (turmeric), honey, Besan face packs (gram flour), etc.

Jeju Volcanic Lava- Aloe Nose strip

It’s a Korean product and it works like crazy. This product is meant to clear your nose of all black and whiteheads. It works wonders. A single packet contains a single strip meant for just one use. According to the directions given in the packet at first, you need to clean your face properly and wet your nose. Remove the mask from the plastic film and stick it gently all over the nose and tap with your fingers. When it becomes dry after 20 min you can slowly remove it. For better results, I would suggest scrubbing your face properly with a mild scrub followed by massaging with a cream.  Let the pores of your nose open so that the nose strip can clean it properly. A hot towel can also lead to opening the pores of your nose. I have followed these steps and I could not believe the strip is so effective.

Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask- Vit C

This is the next Korean face mask that I have used. The application procedure that I followed is same as the earlier one. I cleaned my face with a mild face wash and then adhere the face mask all over it. I kept it on my face for half an hour and removed it gently. It is just Rs150 for a single strip. The sheet is made of cotton and the vitamin C present in the sheet helps to brighten up the dull skin. It gave my skin a radiant glow after the use. After removing the sheet tap the remaining gel with your fingers so that the skin can absorb the maximum amount of it. You need not wash your face again. Leave it like that and feel the difference.

Mirabelle Papaya Fairness Facial Mask

I am not so much into using fairness products as I am proud of my skin colour. The only reason that I purchased this face mask sheet is due to the presence of Papaya. Papaya is very good for all types of skin, it helps in removing blemishes and cure suntan. I tan a lot as I go to work every day and my skin gets exposed to sunrays every day as I commute to my workplace in public transport. I am yet to use the sheet mask but I am sure it will be effective like the other two. According to the directions given in the packet, the application is very simple. You just need to wash your face with normal water and wipe with a towel. Gently apply the mask on entire face. Relax for 10 to 20 min and remove it. Tap gently to absorb the remaining essence in the skin. It says you need not wash your face again.

REAL NATURE Tea Tree

The last sheet of the lot is rich in tea tree extracts. This product is from the brand THE FACE SHOP. Tea tree is effective for treating acne and has anti-microbial properties. The products claim to be free of 5 additives- parabens, triethanolamine, propylene glycol, tar, colorant, mineral oil. The process for application is exactly similar to the one mentioned above. I am yet to use this product. Will update the results in this post as soon as I use it. Before applying any of the masks a skin test is a must. You need to check whether the mask will be harmless or cause no allergies on your skin.
