Food is always my top priority no matter while travelling. Like I said in my previous post, I do a thorough research before planning a trip. READ HERE. The research is always related to fun activities, places of interest and yes! food. There are lots of food apps that help me in that. When talking about food, let’s begin with my own city Guwahati in Assam, India. Guwahati these days have come up with a wide variety of restaurants serving wide variety of cuisines. They have some creative set up, peaceful ambiance and a unique way of presenting the food. These restaurants perfectly suit any budget. Assam is also a land of many tribes, culture and traditions so there are lots of restaurants that serve authentic tribal and ethnic cuisines which are unique in taste and flavour. I have my own favourite places to eat where I visit almost often. I love to experiment a lot especially with food. On Sundays if I am not doing anything specific I spend the day exploring new restaurants and cafes in the city. Here are my top three favourite restaurants in Guwahati.
Favourite Restaurants- My top five favourite restaurants in GuwahatiÂ

It is famous for it’s exquisite Bengali dishes of which my favourite ones are “Mourola macher bhaja (crunchy whitebait) “, Bhapa Ilish Mach, Dab Chingri (prawns cooked inside tender coconut) , begun diye pabda mach, Aloo Jhinga Posts. Each of their items are very well cooked and delicious. They serve Buffet from 12.30 to 3.30 PM Mon-Fri. The prices vary on sunday and saturday.

   2. Food Exx
When it comes to Biryani, I go weak in my knees. It makes me forget everything in the world. I need to have my full platter Biryani atleast twice a month to let me keep going. And when we are talking about Biryani, only one name comes in my mind that is Food Exx. Since last few years many restaurants in Guwahati have come up where they serve excellent Biryani but my choice never changes. I like the way Biryani is served in Food Exx , it’s always fresh and the quantity is very proportionate, as such there is no wastage.
